5 of my favourite WordPress plugins for 2024

Posted on .

Running your very own wordpress blog? Then you need to check out my favourite wordpress plugins — many of which are running on this very blog!

1. The wordpress plugin for organisation: Folders

To kick things off, organization is key for me, and I achieve this through the Folders plugin. This simple yet powerful tool allows me to create dynamic folders for my pages, posts, and media assets. What I love about it is the ability to brand it and color-coordinate it to match my brand colors. Plus, I can set dynamic rules based on file names and various elements, ensuring that all my assets are properly filed. This is especially handy when I have a lot of assets to manage and need to find things quickly within the WordPress interface.

2. The wordpress plugin for security: Really Simple SSL

Next up is Really Simple SSL. This plugin is essential for ensuring that my site is secure and that I have my SSL certificate in place. It helps me identify any potential security issues, giving me peace of mind as I manage my website. In today’s digital landscape, having a secure site is non-negotiable, and this plugin makes it effortless.

3. The wordpress plugin for Google tracking: Site Kit by Google

When it comes to managing my analytics and ads, I rely on Site Kit. This Google plugin allows me to easily manage all of my Google Analytics and Google Ads tracking in one place. There are many ways to handle this, but I find Site Kit to be the easiest, free, and relatively straightforward to set up. It provides valuable insights without overwhelming me with complexity.

4. Presto Player

Another fantastic tool I use is Presto Player. This video hosting platform offers incredible flexibility regarding customization and presentation on my site. One feature I particularly enjoy is the ability to gate videos, turning them into lead generation opportunities. Instead of hosting a full webinar, I can simply share a gated video. The templated designs allow me to customize the look to fit my brand perfectly. Additionally, pairing Presto Player with BunnyNet, a popular CDN, ensures that my videos load quickly and securely without bogging down my hosting with heavy video files.

5. Rank Math

Last but certainly not least is Rank Math, my go-to SEO plugin. As a competitor to Yoast, I find Rank Math to be more user-friendly and intuitive. It helps me create my sitemap, stay on top of technical SEO, and verify that all my pages have proper H1 tags. I also appreciate its functionality for checking canonical issues and ensuring alt text on images. With its rank tracking capabilities, I can easily monitor which keywords I’m ranking for and identify areas for improvement. It’s a powerful tool that I genuinely enjoy using.

These are just a few of my favorite WordPress plugins that help me keep my site organized, secure, and optimized. Each one plays a crucial role in my workflow, making my experience smoother and more efficient. If you’re looking to enhance your WordPress site, I highly recommend giving these plugins a try!
